OREGON CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS BOARD (CCB) - "The Construction Contractors Board was created in 1971 as the Builders Board and is responsible for safeguarding the security and property of the citizens of Oregon by preventing and resolving construction contracting problems and by insuring contractors' compliance with the law. The board administers the Oregon Contractors Law that provides for licensing of residential and commercial construction contractors, subcontractors and home inspectors; investigation and adjudication of complaints filed against licensees; and assessment of sanctions against unlawful contractors. The board tests applicants on a 16-hour course in construction laws and business practices. The board also engages in education activities aimed at preventing construction problems, resolving disputes and promoting a competitive business environment."
PRC maintains a contractor's license as required by OAR for the purpose of performing commercial building envelope inspections, performance of destructive testing, bid solicitations in the private and public environment, construction administration services, among others. CCB#168972
OREGON DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY STANDARDS & TRAINING (DPSST) - "The Private Security and Private Investigators Program provides training and licensing services to its constituents in an industry-initiated effort to enhance professionalism among member-businesses and employees who provide services in the state of Oregon. The program works together with its policy committee members and the Board on Public Safety Standards and Training to establish professional standards, provide training to assist constituents in meeting these standards and enforce licensure and certification requirements for private security professionals and private investigators."
Many Technical Specialists of PRC maintain individual Private Investigator Licenses as required by OAR for residential or non commercial building envelope investigations and for the purposes of bolstering expert witness testimony and to comply with the Oregon Evidence Code as to those able to render expert opinions other than Architects and Engineers.
THE INSTITUTE OF ROOFING, WATERPROOFING, & BUILDING ENVELOPE PROFESSIONALS (RCI) - "Since 1983, the Institute's professional members have offered unbiased design, repair planning, quality observance, legal testimony, and general roof and building envelope management services. RCI's professional members adhere to a strict code of ethics that offers unprejudiced service without affiliation with any product or manufacturer."
Virtually all Technical Staff of PRC maintain individual certifications with RCI in order to remain competent in the field and to continue to foster their education in the performance and application tolerances of all types of systems under various climatic stresses.
INSTALLATIONMASTERSTM - "is a nationwide training and certification program for installers of windows and patio doors in the residential and light commercial markets. The program was developed by American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) after prompting from the Building, Environment and Thermal Envelope Council (BETEC) through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). InstallationMastersTM is designed to teach installers the best practices and installation techniques for both new construction and replacement projects based on established industry standards. It provides an assurance that certified installers have been trained and passed the written examination."
Many Technical Specialists of PRC have been trained and certified in the installation of various types of windows in various types of envelope systems in accordance with industry standards and guidelines, assisting with the ability to determine construction defects and preparation of repair scopes and details.
