Personnel working within the Facilities Administration Building of Salem Hospital reported smelling a strong, unpleasant odor within the building on hot days.  Salem Health invited PRC to perform an evaluation in an effort to locate the source of the odor.  PRC performed a site inspection, during which portions of the roof structure and wall assembly were dismantled.  Three potential causes of the odor were identified.  Personnel within the office space confirmed one of the identified materials as being very similar to the unpleasant odor.  PRC prepared a report outlining our findings and recommendations.  That report was the basis for a later roof replacement project.
