Upon completion of the initial roof system failure analysis, PRC determined that roof replacement was immediately necessary and because of the short construction window afforded by the high altitude, the project spanned over two summers. The primary goal was to protect the structure against the rigorous weather conditions of this remote region using an impervious temporary roof membrane. As the site is typically inaccessible after September, with a 20 foot snowpack as the norm, additional structural design modifications were required to be addressed the following year. The original roof was replaced with new cedar shingles and a two layer underlayment system, for which PRC provided design assistance and quality assurance inspections.
